Juanelma, she hasn't rereleased any of the other designs she's done for magazines. The magazine is always cheaper than a pattern though, and you can order this from most NS and online as well.

I would bet it's CC if the threads are hand dyed...this is very much in the style of the letters! CC is pretty reasonable as far as hand dyed cotton goes.

Juanelma - no, this will probably never be released as a chart. The magazine is the one who actually owns the rights to the designs.

Hmmm... not sure about this one. My husband seemed to like it though. (Very weird for him.) I'll take another look when I find it in the store.

I doubt it - the Halloween and Christmas ones that have appeared in the last couple of years haven't been released as solo patterns yet. Sorry. If you
think you might want it, I could probably get a copy for you and send it along.
Let me know. Cheers - Beth |

I just bought the magazine tonight. The pattern calls for 9 valdani threads, 2 kreineks, and 3 mill hill petite beads. I can't wait to start stitching her!

Could you post the numbers on the threads? I am ordering the magazines and would like to know which threads to order so I can place it all on one.

Does anyone recommend an ONS that carries Valdani? Drema doesn't seem to carry it, and even NIAH doesn't list it.

Could you also confirm that it is a design by Nora? I looked at the picture and it seems (to me) to be more like an 'imitation Nora' than the real
thing. The face and legs are not like Nora usually does, and the dress is a bit to 'blockish' in terms of colour placement for the usual Nora fairies.

After Catherines post wondering if it is a Nora design, it has me wondering too. The arms & legs are so stick thin, they look a bit odd. Does anyone else
think this? The colourings are very pretty, but who makes Valdani threads? I have never heard of them before. Are these threads expensive? Thanks Julia

Did the magazine identify the past Nora designs as being Nora designed? If they did then but didn't now, maybe it is not.
Either way, I still like it. With Cath's post in mind, it does look like there are subtle Nora flourishes and shadings missing from this. If I ever stitch it, I will NOT be using Valdani threads. The only reason I have a small targeted collection of Crescent Colors is because of her alphabet fairies. I will NOT get another collection started. Substitutions will be made. Especially if this turns out to not be a Nora design. Those beads have to have more sparkle, the petals more definition. |

Oh okay - if the magazine says Nora, then I guess it is! LOL!
I just checked the ABC Stitch Therapy website - they have the six strand Valdani floss listed for $US3 each (10 yard skeins - so great value for money). I will put my hand up and say that I am 'affiliated' with the site - it is owned by a very good friend of mine and her sister (her sister lives one block from me here in NZ!) and I stitch a lot of models for the store. I actually saw the Valdani threads at Nashville in February - the colours are lovely, and the stitched models that used them were lovely too. The thread information says they are colourfast. I haven't stitched with them yet, so can't comment on how they go, but they do feel lovely to fondle. |

If anyone wants me to get the special supplies for this for them let me know. I can get them for $32.25 plus postage, without the fabric. I can also get the
fabric recommended if you want it. I have paypal for an easy way to pay so just let me know.

Valdani threads are nice. I got a bunch off ebay for a super price. I can't remember the sellers name right now, but I got them for around $2 each.
If you do a search on ebay for Valdani thread in the store listings Youthful Hands shop comes up, that's who I bought from in the past and I have nothing but excellent things to say about that seller. She sent a price list with my order and her thread prices are some of the cheapest I've seen and she has a graduated scale, the more you order they cheaper they get. Not affiliated or anything, just a happy customer.
