Hi Regan,

I've had this happen a few times myself! It's always disappointing, and I, like Vanessa, stick to the handful of dyers that I know send me very close products to what is pictured. Another thing that no one has mentioned but that I am sure everyone here is aware of, is that each individual computer screen shows colors in it's own way. It's almost impossible to a fabric that looks like it does on your computer screen, and even if it does it may look fine or correct on mine but different on yours. When I first started ordering HD fabrics I stuck to those who would give descriptions of what the fabric looked like rather than those who just put up pictures. It's a shame that you we going off a description and it still was nothing near what you expected.

If you are on a quest for a specific color of fabric and you just aren't sure if the one you are looking at is the right one, I suggest you e-mail the person making the fabrics and ask them what the color specifically looks like in the type of fabric you want. I have e-mailed my fair share and they are always nice! If you are really lucky, they will add what the colors are in the fabric and their closest match to DMC colors. That is FANTASTIC because then you can compare and get a real sense of what color range you are dealing with.

I'm not sure where you are at in the world, but here are the ones I order from and rarely get something other than what I am expecting:

1.) Crafty Kitten! (UK) Dawn's fabrics are divine! I'm not sure I have ever received one that was not stunning and pretty spot on to the description.
2.) Sparklies. (UK) Kate's fabrics are great because she has a list of the DMC matches in every description. She is another one that I have never received any "surprises" from.
3.) Picture This Plus. (US) They are the only ones in the US that I order from.

There are two others (Sticthes and Spice and CountryStitch) I order from on the other side of the world But unless you are over there, it's a long way for a fabby to travel And since they are so far away, I have less experience with them than I do the first three I listed.

I hope you find the fabric you're looking for! Good Luck!

Beverly
