Okay, general rule of thumb with dyeing the less natural fibre in it, the less dye the fabric/floss etc will take. Lugana is cotton viscose blend. Viscose is not a natural fibre so will not absorb so much colour, and lugana ends up being a paler colour.

As far as stitching, lugana is possibly easier to stitch. Each thread is smooth, whereas linen can vary in the smoothness, and be very uneven at times. Lugana is slightly shinier than linen and is soft and easy to stitch. The threads run in very straight lines. Good luck and can't wait to see your WiP pics
