I think she is really pretty and I love the different color scheme and especially the subtle hand dyed fabric--after all this time, Nora is finally going hand
dyed!! But now the issue is that I cannot remember if I still have a subscription to this magazine or not!!!

Ladies, I just checked with Drema at Needlecraft Corner, and she will be carrying this magazine, the linen, and the Valdani threads. She'll have to wait
until Monday to put everything together, but she'll have it!

Are there DMC conversions listed for the Valdani threads? I am a bit meh on this design, and really don't want to spend $25US+ for threads I will never use
again. On the other hand, if there are DMC conversions avaliable for them, I just might decide to stitch it for my mom.
Not to rant too much, but I'm getting a bit tired of magazine designs being so expensive to stitch. Like the $150 kit from JCS to do the Jeanette Douglas design. At least that one did have DMC numbers. I guess I'm just a stick in the mud that likes to use the stash I already have. :P

I don't know if there are conversions listed or not, but IKWYM about the expensive threads and charms. (The Mira cherub in the Christmas book being
discussed in another thread is a prime example - I love the cherub, but I don't want to spend ~$20 for holly leaf charms.) I've got my eye on the
Jeanette Douglas design, but I'd have to kit it up very, very slowly.
I will say, though, that I have a few Valdani threads, and I love them - love the feel and love the colors. I think I'd be able to find another use for what's left of them, and they're 10 yard, 6-ply skeins. Charisse |

Heather - why don't you wait until some people get the SF stitched. I suspect it won't use that much of the Valdani threads to complete it. Someone
might be willing to part with their left over threads at a good deal!

Yes the Valdani threads are variegated so they give a nice subtle color change.

I think she is just adorable. Nora always amazes me.
Any shop should be able to get the Valdani threads even if they don't have them listed. It's just a matter of asking your favorite shop to bring them in on their next order.

I found a conversion chart for Valdani to Weeks & GAST threads here. I just converted a Valdani to Silk Mori using the Weeks/GAST conversion. It
worked out pretty well for me.

I just started stitching the sunflower fairy with the valdani threads. The thread is 3 ply and the design calls for 2 ply. So what am I supposed to do with
the leftover ply? If I cut a more thread the variagations do'nt match up is that okay to stitch with? Or am I going to have waste alot of thread?

There is a six ply Valdani -I think that is what we are meant to buy ? That way it works out evenly

Mary, it sounds like you've got the 3-strand floss instead of the 6-strand; is it thick enough to just use one ply?

The 3-ply and 6-ply Valdani threads are exactly the same floss, just a different number of strands. The 3-ply option is designed for punchneedle.

Just got my magazine!! WoooHoo! she really is pretty but no conversion for the Valdani threads! Will have to make my own conversion I guess-think I may just
